Sunday Morning Ride (SMR)

The regular Sunday ride usually carries us on a route through several counties on 250 to 300 miles of the best crooked roads in those counties.   This ride departs from the Jack in Box at the southeast corner of Highway 359 and I-10, in Brookshire, Texas.   A map to the location can be found by clicking here

Departure time is dependent on the season, we leave at 0800 in the summer to beat the heat, at 0900 in winter to let it warm up.

So come on out and enjoy a ride through some great roads and good camaraderie with the members of Houston Chapter of the TSBA.

Before you ride
The Houston Chapter works to create a safe riding environment.   We have developed a set of ride guidelines loosely based on the Pace.   A complete set of our guidelines can be found here

Riders are expected to:
  • Arrive on time
  • Wearing proper attire
  • With a properly maintained motorcycle

    Minimum Riding Gear includes:

  • Full face helmet
  • Riding jacket (something designed to be used on a motorcycle)
  • Ankle high shoes
  • Long pants, denim or better
  • Gloves
    Please note the above are minimum requirements. Many riders wear full coverage, armored riding gear. Dress for the fall, not the ride.

    Motorcycle Preparation includes

  • Good tires. Properly inflated with plenty of tread.
  • Good brakes. No leaks or worn pads.
  • Good suspension. No leaks.
  • Assure all control points operate freely. Adjust them to fit you.
  • Adjust the clutch.
  • Adjust and lube the chain.
  • Make sure all lights work.
  • Clean and adjust mirrors.
  • Arrive with a full tank of gas! The only time you have too much fuel is when you are on fire. :)
